After a year of hard work and sleepless nights, our team achieved 2nd place in the MATE ROV Competition, marking the first time we have reached such a high rank. Not only that, but we also won the Best Product Demonstration Award and the Bang for the Buck Award.
The MATE ROV (Remotely Operated Vehicle) Competition, organized by the Marine Advanced Technology Education (MATE) Center, has been held annually since 2002. It challenges teams of students from around the world to design, build, and operate underwater robots that tackle real-world tasks inspired by marine science, offshore industries, and environmental missions. The competition not only tests engineering and technical skills but also emphasizes entrepreneurship, teamwork, and innovation, making it one of the most prestigious international student competitions in the field of marine robotics.
