MATE ROV 2024 was one of the toughest journeys we’ve ever faced. The year was full of surprises, setbacks, and moments when we thought we wouldn’t even make it to the competition. But instead of giving up, we kept pushing forward with hard work, sleepless nights, and pure dedication. In the end, all that effort paid off—we proudly secured 7th place in the world. This achievement is not just about the rank, but about proving to ourselves that persistence and teamwork can turn challenges into milestones.
The MATE ROV (Remotely Operated Vehicle) Competition, organized by the Marine Advanced Technology Education (MATE) Center, has been held annually since 2002. It challenges student teams from around the globe to design, build, and operate underwater robots that solve real-world problems inspired by ocean exploration, offshore industries, and environmental missions. More than just an engineering challenge, the competition emphasizes innovation, teamwork, and entrepreneurship, making it one of the most prestigious international events in marine robotics.
