RobEn UAV participated in the Student Unmanned Aerial Systems (SUAS) Competition, an International event held in the USA hosting teams from all around the globe. Although the team didn't travel to America and participated without attending in person by submitting the required reports, videos, papers, and other requested documentations, it secured the 26th place overall. Across African teams, RobEn UAV managed to secure the 1st place, marking a significant achievement and proving its ability to compete internationally.
The SUAS competition is designed to foster interest in Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS), stimulate interest in UAS technologies and careers and to engage students in a challenging mission. The competition requires students to design, integrate, report on, and demonstrate a UAS capable of autonomous flight and navigation, remote sensing via onboard payload sensors, and execution of a specific set of tasks. The competition has been held annually since 2002.
